Sri Lankan players managed to record a stunning victory by seven wickets against Australia in the first match held in India yesterday (6) in the ongoing Blind T20 Cricket World Cup tournament.
Batting first, the Australian team scored 158 runs for the loss of nine wickets at the end of their 20 overs. Bowling for the Sri Lankan team, Suranga Sampath managed to take two wickets, while Dinesh Madhuwantha, Sahan Kumara, Saman Thushara, and Murugan Mohanraja shared one wicket each.
In response, Sri Lankan batters managed to achieve the required score in 13.4 overs losing only three wickets. Suranga Sampath scored 63 runs in 41 balls, Ruwan Wasantha scored 43 runs in 33 balls, and Chandana Deshapriya scored an unbeaten 20 runs in just 10 balls.
The Sri Lankan team’s next match in the tournament is scheduled to be held on Friday (9) against South Africa.
