Rs. 150 b Treasury Bonds to be issued today – The Morning

  • Issuance includes two Rs. 60 bn bonds, one Rs. 30 bn bond 

 

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka, through a notice, announced the issuance of Treasury Bond auctions, worth Rs. 150 billion, that are set to be conducted today (28). 

The issuance includes Rs. 60,000 million Treasury Bonds under the series of 17.00% 2025 ‘A’, Rs. 30,000 million Treasury Bonds under the series of 18.00% 2028 ‘A’ and Rs. 60,000 million Treasury Bonds under the series of 18.00% 2031 ‘A’. 

The 17.00% 2025 ‘A’, Rs. 30,000 million Treasury Bond will be issued at 17% coupon rate per annum, while the other two would be issued at 18% coupon rate per annum.

“Bids are invited from primary dealers in Treasury Bonds on the basis of clean prices (exclusive of accrued interest from the date of last coupon payment to the date of settlement). Bids should be made only through the electronic bidding facility provided by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL). With respect to each Series/ISIN, CBSL may accept any amount not exceeding the amount offered depending on the market conditions,” the Central Bank notice stated.
