ECONOMYNEXT – Renewable and engineering firms were promoted in an online forum organized with the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce and Sri Lanka’s embassy in the country, the Export Development Board said.
Over 29 Sri Lankan companies representing construction, engineering, hydropower and related fields had taken part in the event.
Sri Lankan counterparts had outlined the available opportunities in the low-cost housing, commercial and governmental buildings, infrastructure, and energy sectors in Mozambique, a statement from EDB said.
High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in South Africa Gamini Gunawardane had invited both the sides to exchange information, inquries and concerns to take forward the subsequent meetings and visits to Mozambique by the local firms.
Sri Lankan companies had agreed to submit questions and concerns to the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce.
The local companies will also pay a visit to Mozambique in July 2022 to have direct meetings, EDB said.
